Camp is full at this time! Please email Advanced Academics if you would like to add your student to the wait list.

Payment for pre-registered students must be received by May 24th.

Detailed Description

Developed in conjunction with the Rice University School Mathematics Project, this camp focuses on enhancing campers' understanding of mathematical concepts, utilizing art as a springboard.

Activities will focus on operational math understanding, geometric design, four color theory, Archimedes' Leverage Theory, the impact of math on art and other concepts.  Campers will produce a daily art project that demonstrates the theory discussed that day.

Additionally, campers will learn Minecraft coding and will take home a one-year license. Recreation time will be built in to the day.

Students will be grouped by grade level, so any student who attended this camp in 2018 will have the opportunity to progress to the next level of the curriculum without repeating activities.

Please note: Lunch is not available on the Bendwood campus, so all students should pack a daily lunch, drink and snacks.

Activities will focus on research, product based learning and presentation skills. Campers will work in groups to uncover and analyze one area of concern and then prepare a presentation illustrating how that problem may manifest in the future. Students will flex debate muscles and learn to see multiple perspectives through an academic lens.

Supplemental learning in robotics and coding will be provided, as well as recreation time.
